Basic Commands
Rooms are generally called channels.
Join a room (create it if it doesn't exist):
/join #roomname
Get a list of all channels on the server:
/list
Start a private conversation:
/msg nickname
Registering
Registering is not necessary or compulsory for the use of chatrooms. However, you can register your nickname in order to "secure" its usage. If you register your nickname then you can also request a cloak for your IP address in irc://irc.indymedia.org/#ircd
